Journal Writing Prompts for March

March is here! The third month of 2022 is a great time to start or continue writing in your journal. If you are looking for inspiration, check out the following journal writing prompts for March.

  1. What do you hope to accomplish in March? Write at least 3 goals in each area of your life: personal, work, family, community, and church.
  2. How did February go for you? List your highs and lows for last month.
  3. It’s World Wildlife Day. What steps do you and your family take to help protect the wildlife and environment in your community? Is there anything else you could be doing?
  4. List 10 things that make you smile. Yes, you have 10 things that make you smile. Feel free to write more than 10.
  5. What is your safe place? Why do you feel secure at this location?
  6. What healthy habit or self-care activity do you want to start? Why? What is holding you back from beginning this task?
  7. When your time on Earth is over, how do you hope to be remembered?
  8. What life altering decision did you make in the past? How is it impacting your life today?
  9. Do you love your life? Job? Relationship status? Community? Why or why not? What areas need improvement?
  10. Write about a funny moment that has happened recently? Go into detail.
  11. What causes you to have anxiety or self-doubt? What steps can you take to improve your reaction?
  12. What is your biggest worry for the future? Why?
  13. Day Light Savings Time Begins! How does the change affect you? Does the time difference change your mood? Why or why not?
  14. Who is your current role model? Why?
  15. When you look outside today, how do you feel? Remember go into detail.
  16. When you look in the mirror, who do you see?
  17. Happy St. Patrick’s Day! Did you celebrate? Did you wear green? What did you do on this St. Patrick’s Day 2022? Go into details.
  18. Free write for 15 minutes. Write down anything that comes to mind.
  19. If you could only listen to one song for the rest of your life, what would you pick? Why is this song important to you?
  20. The first official day of Spring? What were your weather conditions today? Did you get outdoors to enjoy the first day of Spring?
  21. What are 5 things you would like to do this spring?
  22. How do you respond to a situation when you do not get what you want? Or think you deserve more?
  23. What situation made you get out of your comfort zone recently? How did you handle the ordeal? Could you handle it differently? Why or why not?
  24. What is your favorite book to reread? Why do you always go back to this book?
  25. How do you respond to new ideas? Do you enjoy trying something new? Or do you prefer for things to stay the same? Why?
  26. What do you hope your life will be like in 7 years? What steps are you taking to achieve this goal?
  27. Write a letter to your teenage self. Next, write a letter to your future self.
  28. Write about a time in your life when you felt courageous.
  29. When you meet someone new, do you feel you are a good judge of character? Why or why not?
  30. Do you believe your life is being guided by a higher power? Why or why not?
