Decorations (Quick & Budget-Friendly)

  • Balloons: Think green! Hang green balloons everywhere. Or purchase a helium tank (or rent one) to blow up the green balloons to float on the ceiling.
  • Paper Cut Outs: Cut out shamrocks from green construction paper. Hang the shamrocks around the party area. Cut out extras for your craft activity table.
  • Candy Jars: Fill clear jars with gold-wrapped chocolates like Rolos or gold coins.
  • Other Decorations: Go to your local dollar store to find items at an affordable price. Use green tableclothes to cover food and craft areas. Add rainbow-colored streamers to entryways.

Snacks & Treats

  • Lucky Charms Marshmallow Treats: Make Rice Krispies treats but swap in Lucky Charms.
  • Rainbow Fruit Cups: Layer strawberries, oranges, pineapples, green grapes, blueberries, and purple grapes.
  • Green Popcorn: Toss popcorn with melted green candy melts.
  • Leprechaun Punch: Mix lime sherbet with lemon-lime soda.
  • Pot of Gold Snack Mix: Add pretzels, popcorn, M&M’s, and gold-wrapped candies to a large bowl, mix well, and serve.

Fun Activities & Games

  • Leprechaun Treasure Hunt: Hide gold coins around the house and let kids find them.
  • Pin the Hat on the Leprechaun: Like “Pin the Tail on the Donkey,” but with a leprechaun hat.
  • Leprechaun Freeze Dance: Play Irish music and have kids freeze when the music stops.
  • Shamrock Crafts: Set up an open-ended craft table. Place markers, crayons, green glitter, buttons, glue, green yarn, and shamrock cutouts to decorate.
  • Gold Coin Toss: Toss plastic gold coins into a pot for points. Move the pot to different lengths for higher points.

Party Favors & More

  • Party Bags: Create take-home treat bags. Add mini bags of gold chocolate coins, green bead necklaces, or shamrock stickers. Add St. Patrick’s Day temporary tattoos.
  • Photo Booth: Set up an area for photos. Hang a large green tablecloth for a backdrop. Add various props. Take lots of photos. Send a link to other parents to print.

Happy St. Patrick’s Day! Relax and enjoy your party.
