March Journal Writing Prompts

Do you write in your journal daily? Or are you thinking about starting journal writing? If you are trying to develop content, check out the following journal writing prompts for March.

  1. What are you looking forward to this month?
  2. How did February go for you, your family, work, school, or other commitments? List your highs and lows for last month.
  3. Describe the pandemic in your area. Are you still on restrictions? Did you get the COVID shot?
  4. What are you doing to stay healthy?

  5. Would rather go back in time to meet your ancestors or go forward to meet future generations? Why?
  6. Do you view yourself as a city person or a country person? Why?
  7. If you could switch places with a fictional character, who would you pick? Why?
  8. If every day is a learning experience, what did you learn today? Go into details.
  9. Where is your “happy” place?
  10. Free write for 15 minutes.
  11. Describe a favorite childhood memory.
  12. What personal goal are you attempting to achieve right now? What steps are you taking to make this goal a success?
  13. Describe yourself. (Be Kind).
  14. Write a letter to your future self, include future accomplishments.
  15. How do you describe friendship? Are you a good friend?
  16. Name three things you want to try.
  17. Happy St. Patrick’s Day! Did you celebrate?
  18. What were you doing today at 9 am, 2 pm, and 6 pm? Go into detail.
  19. If you could pick any timeline in history to grow up in, what would you choose? Why?
  20. Happy 1st Day of Spring! What is your favorite part of Spring?
  21. Did you go on spring break trips as a child? Where did you go? Write about the experience.
  22. Make a spring bucket list.
  23. What is your all-time favorite song? Why?
  24. Write a personal fact that no one else knows. Why do you keep this memory a secret?
  25. Write a review.
  26. Write about your family, co-workers, significant other, pets, or friends.
  27. What do you feel is your biggest personality trait?
  28. What is your springtime guilty pleasure?
  29. Describe your dream life.
  30. Describe what failure looks like to you. Now, describe success.
  31. What are you hoping to accomplish in the next nine months of 2021?
