April Journal Writing Prompts

A new month is here. Are you ready for April? Do you want to include new entries in your journal? Start by doing daily check-ins. Write a small note about your day. If you need inspiration for other entries, consider the following journal prompts for April.

  1. How did March go for you, your family, friends, co-workers, and the community? List your highs and lows for the month.
  2. Did anyone prank you yesterday for April Fools’ Day? Or did you prank anyone? Describe the incident.
  3. How do you plan to spend the rest of 2024? List 5 goals.
  4. How has your life changed since last April? List the highs and lows since last year.
  5. What area of your life could you improve yourself?
  6. Did you go on Spring Break? What did you do?
  7. What is your most memorable Spring Break? Why?
  8. What is one new activity you want to try? What is stopping you? How can you achieve this goal?
  9. Free write for 15 minutes.
  10. What are you doing to stay healthy? What changes do you need to do to lead a healthier lifestyle? What steps are you taking to achieve these goals?
  11. What is your idea of a fun time? What do you like to do for yourself? Family? Friends?
  12. Describe a recent communication that was meaningful to you. Did you connect with someone over a specific subject? Describe.
  13. Do you consider yourself to be a creative person? Do you enjoy art? Photography? Writing? What area would you like to grow? Why?
  14. Where would you go if you could travel to any place in the world this year? Why?
  15. What are you currently reading? Why did you pick this book?
  16. What is your favorite quote? Why?
  17. Write about your entire day. Document your highs or lows.
  18. Write down your recent dreams. What do you think they mean?
  19. What is one bad habit do you need to eliminate? How do you plan to achieve this goal?
  20. Who is the kindest person you know? What makes this person stand out?
  21. How do you practice self-care? Do you need to implement more self-care activities in your life?
  22. Today is Earth Day. What do you do to help our planet? What more could you do to help?
  23. What piece of advice would you give your teenage self? Why?
  24. What is your dream job? Why?
  25. What is your biggest pet peeve? Why does this activity bother you the most?
  26. Describe how your “public you” differs from your “home you”.
  27. Is there a person you need to forgive? Who is this person? What is the situation?
  28. What is making headlines on the news today? What story caught your attention the most? Why?
  29. When was the last time you laughed? Describe the incident.
  30. Your choice.
