Journal Writing Prompts for February

The second month of 2024 is here. Are you ready to continue writing in your journal? If you are searching for inspiration, consider the following journal writing prompts for February.

  1. How did last month go for you? Your family? Your friends? Work? School?
  2. What are you hoping to achieve in February? Write down 5 goals.
  3. Are you working toward your 2024 goals? What steps do you need to take to achieve them?
  4. Free write for 20 minutes. Set your alarm and write the first thing that comes to mind.
  5. What bad habit are you struggling to break? Was this a New Year’s resolution? Why is this habit bad for you? What steps are you taking to eliminate or reduce this from your life?
  6. How can you make more time for yourself? Self-care is essential to your overall health and well-being.
  7. Write a review about a book.
  8. Write about a moment from today that made you laugh.
  9. What was the most challenging part of your day or week? Why?
  10. Write down three dream travel destinations. Why do you want to go to these places? Create a plan to travel.
  11. It’s Super Bowl Sunday! Are you watching the game? Hosting a party? Or going to bed early? Why?
  12. Do you believe you are a morning or night person? Why?
  13. Mardi Gras is today. Have you ever been to Mardi Gras? Do you want to go? Why or why not?
  14. Happy Valentine’s Day! Did you celebrate?
  15. Write about a time in your life when someone helped you. Why is this act of kindness important to you?
  16. What makes you happy?
  17. Describe your perfect day.
  18. What does friendship mean to you? Who is your best friend? How long have you been friends?
  19. Presidents’ Day! What is your opinion of the current president? Are you looking forward to the 2024 Presidential Race? Why or why not?   
  20. What are your values? How do your values affect your everyday life?
  21. What song do you love to listen to on high volume right now? Why?
  22. What is your biggest stress right now? How can you change it?
  23. Write about a childhood memory.
  24. Write down five things that you are grateful for right now.
  25. Describe the last time a friend, family member, or co-worker made you feel valued.
  26. Writer’s choice.
  27. What is one thing that surprised you this month? Write out your highs and lows for the month.
  28. What are you looking forward to in March? Why is this important?
  29. It’s a Leap Year! There’s an extra day in February! Write how your day went!
